Willards-Robert "Bobby" Donald Rentz, Jr., of Willards died at Peninsula Regional Medical Center in Salisbury, on Monday, August 18, 2014. He was 55. Born on January 29, 1959, in Dover, Delaware, he was the son of Robert D. Rentz of Felton, Delaware, and the late Avalon Sheppard Rentz. After graduating in 1977 from Parkside High School in Salisbury, he worked in the family salvage business in Fruitland. Later he changed careers and worked for various car dealerships, both in management and in wholesale. At the time of his death, Mr. Rentz was sales manager for Stateline Auto Sales in New Church, VA. He loved to spend time with his family, cooking, playing cards with his wife and their friends, Melanie and Rich, and watching NASCAR. In addition to his father, he is survived by his beloved wife, Danette, whom he married in 1979; two sons, Joseph and Zachary Rentz, both of Willards; one brother, Michael and his wife, Jacque of Frederick, MD; two nieces and two nephews; and his father-in-law, James Baker of Salisbury. A celebration of life will be held at the Short Funeral Home, 13 E. Grove St., Delmar, Delaware, on Saturday, August 23rd, at 3:00 p.m., with visitation from 2:00 to 3:00 p.m. Burial will be private.
