Robert E. Clyde, 71, of Delmar, died suddenly on Thursday, December 9, 2010. He was born March 2, 1939 in Port Washington, New York, a son of the late Howard and Mary Clyde. Mr. Clyde was a professional dog handler, and a member of the Salisbury Kennel Club and the Irish Terrier Club of Maryland. He is survived by five sons, David Clyde of New York, Brian Clyde of Florida, Todd Clyde of Delaware, Sean Clyde of New York and Eric Clyde of New York; two daughters, Samantha O'Connell and Beth Scott, both of New York; a brother, Howard Clyde, Jr. of Georgia, two sisters; Fran Krug of South Carolina and Beverly Koegler of Florida; his girlfriend Susan McGarry of Delmar; several grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and numerous dear friends in the sport of purebred dogs. A memorial service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Sunday, January 2, 2011 at the Short Funeral Home, 13 East Grove Street in Delmar. Family and friends may call one hour prior to the service.
