Robert J. Banks, II, 64, of Delmar, passed away on Friday, December 25,2009 at Seaford Genesis. He was born on March 11, 1945 in Salisbury, Maryland, a son of the late Robert J. Banks, Sr. and Esther Banks Mills. Bob loved music and enjoyed playing in the Delmar High School band in his youth. He attended Columbia School of Broadcasting and later served as a disc jockey at many local radio stations. He had a love of music. He taught himself to play the piano and had training on the electric guitar. Bob was a member of St. Stephens United Methodist Church in Delmar. He enjoyed helping at church. He loved animals, photography and music, but above all he loved God. He is survived by many cousins. In addition to his parents, his grandparents, Mary and Howard "Pinch" Crowley and Ella and Lewis Banks, preceded him in death. A memorial service will be held on Thursday, January 7, 2010 at 2:00 p.m. at St. Stephens United Methodist Church on State Street in Delmar. The Reverend Marsha Carpenter will officiate. Interment will be private. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be sent to St. Stephens United Methodist Church, 101 East State Street, Delmar, DE 19940.
