Rickie Alexander, 47, of Delmar, died Tuesday, July 8, 2008, at Peninsula Regional Medical Center in Salisbury. He was born on December 12, 1960 in Andalusia, Alabama, a son of the late Reuben and Anniebell Alexander. He worked for Libengood Construction in Delmar. He is survived by his wife, Luretta Alexander; a son, Rickie Alexander, Jr.; three daughters, Rochelle, Michelle and Vickie Alexander; a step son, Damond Thomas; two step daughters, Betty and Sarena Thomas; five grandchildren, Jevon Alexander-Lemon, Bryanna Alexander-Noel, Aniyah Thomas, Armand Thomas and Aria Thomas; a brother, Chris Alexander and his wife Phyllis; three sisters, Mary Moore and her husband Joe, Barbara Jean Harris and Vickie Alexander; mother and father in law, Betty and Daniel Green; father and mother in law, Berry and Sandra Thomas; best friend, Johnny King and ex-wife Lucille King. Also surviving is a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, sisters in law, brothers in law and friends. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Aaron Alexander; and a sister, Dorothy Hayes. A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, July 15, 2008 at 11:00 A.M. at the Short Funeral Home, 13 East Grove Street in Delmar. Family and friends may call one hour prior to the service. The Reverend Dr. Joe Louis Moore will officiate. Interment will follow in St. Stephens Cemetery in Delmar.
