Richard "Dick" Otis Records, 90, of Pittsville, Maryland, passed away on Wednesday, March 26, 2025, surrounded by his loved ones. He was born on April 13, 1934, a son of the late Otis and Helen Records of Salisbury. Dick was a U.S. Army veteran. He was a master electrician and was the owner of Records Electric Company in Pittsville for 60 years. He was a long-time member of Ayres Methodist Church in Pittsville. He was a member of the Antique Car Club and loved working on and driving both of his 1941 Chevrolets that he personally restored. He was also an avid fan of NASCAR and in his earlier years was involved in dirt track racing as an owner. He loved gardening, fishing, and watching the birds fill up the many birdhouses he built. He is survived by his wife of 14 years, Shirley Records; a sister-in-law, Kay Records of Parsonsburg; nephews, Steve Records (Julie) of Pittsville and Bryan Records (Teresa) of Fruitland; great nieces and nephews; and two long-time special friends he considered family, David Trice and Christina deHuarte of Salisbury. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife of 50 years, Pauline (Janie) Records in 2010, and a brother, Donald Records of Parsonsburg in 2016. A funeral service will be held at Short Funeral Home in Delmar at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, April 1, 2025. A visitation for family and friends will be held one hour prior to the service. Reverend Howard Travers will officiate. Interment will follow the service in Pittsville Cemetery. In memory of Mr. Records, contributions may be sent to Ayres Methodist Church, P.O.
