Obituary

Parsonsburg- Richard "Rick" McCabe Hudson, 55, of Parsonsburg, died Sunday, March 6, 2016 at Coastal Hospice at the Lake. He was born December 11, 1960 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, a son of Dorothy J. (Harper) Hudson of Salisbury and the late Raymond I. Hudson. Rick graduated from Parkside High School and attended Wor-Wic Community College. He worked for many years designing orthotics at Foot Management in Pittsville and also delivered pharmaceuticals for Apple Drugs. He loved his work and the people he worked with he considered his extended family. He was an avid NASCAR fan who enjoyed many trips to the races with his buddies. Rick enjoyed the outdoors and spent a lot of his free time camping, boating and being around the water. He was an animal lover and although allergies kept him from having pets of his own, he was very fond of the neighborhood cats and dogs that would visit him frequently. For many years he also enjoyed his membership with the Mud City Van Club. Rick loved people and never met a stranger. His positive and soft-spoken ways will be remembered by all who knew and loved him. In addition to his mother, he is survived by his longtime companion, Sharon Bloxom; many cousins; and a host of close friends. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, March 12, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. at Short Funeral Home, 13 E. Grove Street in Delmar, where family and friends may call from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. Memorial contributions may be made in his memory to the Humane Society of Wicomico County, 5130 Citation Drive, Salisbury, MD 21804.
