Obituary

SEAFORD- Richard Franklin Littleton, 74 years, of Seaford, passed away on Friday August 25, 2017 at his residence. He was born on Friday April 9, 1943 in Willards, the son of the late John Franklin Littleton and Mary (Davis) Littleton. Richard graduated from Pittsville High school with the class of 1961. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Army from 1965 to 1967. In 1997 he married Clara Belle Prettyman, with whom he shared almost 20 years of marriage. In 2001 he retired from DuPont in Seaford as a machine operator, after 33 years of service. He enjoyed traveling, gardening, collecting farm toys and was a skilled artist. In addition to his wife, survivors include in-laws, Esther Hastings and her husband, Clarke, Robert Prettyman and his wife, Joyce, Samuel Prettyman and his wife, Shirley and Fred Prettyman and his wife, Shirley; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, Aug 29 at 12:00 PM at St. Stephen's Cemetery in Delmar. Services will be officiated by Pastor John Rogers. Memorial donations may be made in his memory to Seasons Hospice & Palliative Care, 220 Continental Drive, Suite 407, Newark, DE 19713. Arrangements are in the care of Short Funeral Home of Delmar.
