Richard O. Detrick, known to his friends and family as Rick, passed away on Saturday, June 22, 2024, at the age of 69 at his home in Seaford, Delaware. He was born on June 29, 1954, in Fort Meade, Maryland, a son of the late Daniel Detrick and Bette Gene (Hartman) Phillips. Rick spent his career as a senior systems analyst in the computer information technology industry. Outside of work, he had a passion for Chevrolet Camaros, owning both a 1968 and a 2002 model. He enjoyed traveling to car shows across the country and even took on roles as a host and judge at these events. Rick leaves behind his beloved wife of 46 years, Deborah J. Detrick; siblings, Daniel Detrick, Donna Jean Long, Michael Detrick, Tamara Dietrich, and Craig Detrick; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Thomas Detrick. Services will be held at a later date at his wife's family cemetery.
