Richard Keith Cox, 72, of Delmar passed away on Friday, November 20, 2020 at TidalHealth-Peninsula Regional Hospital in Salisbury. He was born on March 9, 1948 in Salisbury, Maryland, a son of the late Helen Berkert Howard and Richard Lee Cox. He is survived by his wife, Peggy Lee Cox; sons, Michael Stephen Cox (Jennifer) and Richard Keith Cox, Jr. (Jennifer); grandchildren, Emily, Ashley, William, Brooklynn, and Caleb Cox; and brothers, Vernon Brittingham (Betty) and Kenneth Cox (Maryanne). Richard proudly served in the U.S. Army during Vietnam. He worked as a hospital engineer for ten years at Nanticoke Memorial Hospital in Seaford. He and his wife were members of Bay Shore Community Church for 16 years, and they wish to extend a special thanks to Pastor Danny and Karen Tice and Pastor Jeff and Cathy Hudson and the Bay Shore Church family for all their help over years. A special thanks to Pastor John and Joanne Dorough of Church of the Redeemer for your thoughtfulness to our family. Thank you to Corey Murphy, we loved your music and the way you lead worship. Also, thanks to Dr. Raffetto, Mary, Jorden, and all the staff at the hospital and the VA in Georgetown and Wilmington for all their help and kindness. The interment will be held at the Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 26669 Patriots Way in Millsboro, Delaware. Arrangements are in the care of Short Funeral Home in Delmar.
