Rebecca Ann Steininger, 78, of Snow Hill, passed away Thursday, Nov. 3, 2016, at Peninsula Regional Medical Center in Salisbury. Born in Snow Hill, she was a daughter of the late Clifton E. and Lina L. Shockley. Mrs. Steininger retired from the Snow Hill Post Office in 2004 after 26 years of service. She was a member of Bates Memorial United Methodist Church in Snow Hill. She enjoyed hobbies like reading, watching wrestling, and solving word search and jigsaw puzzles. She was a devoted mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She is survived by her two sons, Franklin Steininger and his wife, Sheila, of Snow Hill, and Mark Steininger and his wife, Lori, of Pocomoke; five grandchildren, Edward Steininger Jr., Michael Jackson Jr., Tasha Jackson, Richard Steininger, and Leigh Ann Steininger; three great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Everett E. Steininger; one brother, Franklin Shockley; one sister, Esther Leigh Dickerson; and her son, Edward E. Steininger Sr. A graveside service will be held on Friday, November 11, 2016 at 2:00 p.m. at Bates Memorial Cemetery in Snow Hill. The Reverend Dr. Joseph W. Barth will officiate.
