Obituary

Rebecca "Becky" A. Wilson, age 80, of Hebron, died Friday, March 6, 2009 at Peninsula Regional Medical Center in Salisbury. She was born July 27, 1928 in Mardela Springs, a daughter of the late Norman T. Bennett, Sr. and Juanita (Budd) Bennett. Becky was a long time member of Snethen United Methodist Church in Mardela Springs, a member of the Rebekah Lodge in Salisbury, the WSCS, a Christian Women's group, and the Double Mills Homemaker's Club. Baseball and softball were her favorite sports to watch and she supported the little league and high school teams and loved watching games with her late husband. She was also an avid bingo player and a faithful Baltimore Orioles fan. She loved her work at Baskin Robbins in Salisbury, a job she held for over 25 years. She was a good cook and enjoyed canning and preserving tomatoes, pickles and jams to share with her family and friends. She is survived by two daughters, Anne Taylor and her husband, Eddie of Hebron and Jane Wilson of Mardela Springs; a daughter-in-law, Patricia L. Wilson of Salisbury; three granddaughters who lovingly called her "Mom-Mom Beck", Christina Timmons and her husband, Major Timothy Timmons, U.S. Army, of Yorktown, VA, Kimberly Wilson and her fiancé' Chris Conley of Fruitland and Shelley Taylor of Hebron; three great grandchildren, Madison and Carson Timmons and Kaleb Conley; and a sister, Doris Adkins and her husband, Ronald of Salisbury, She is also survived by many nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Arthur C. Wilson, Sr., who passed in 2000. ; a son, Arthur C. Wilson, Jr, who passed in 2003; two brothers, Norman T. Bennett, Jr. and William T. Bennett; and a sister, Esther Wilkinson. A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, March 11, 2009 at 2:00 p.m. at Short Funeral Home, 13 E. Grove Street, Delmar, where family and friends may call on Tuesday evening from 7:00 to 8:30. Interment will follow the services at Springhill Memory Gardens near Hebron.
