Ralph J. Workman, 93, of Baltimore and formerly of Delmar, died Wednesday, Jan. 20, 2010, at Forest Hill Nursing Home in Forest Hill, Md. He was born July 29, 1916, in Delmar, the son of the late William and Carrie Workman. He was a loving person who nurtured his family and many he came in contact with through the years. He was loved by his family and friends. Ralph retired from Penn Central Railroad in Baltimore, where he had been a conductor. He was a member of Jerusalem United Methodist Church in Parsonsburg and the Bi-State Ruritans of Delmar. He is survived by his wife, Roxie Workman, a resident of Rolling Fields Nursing Home in Pa; a daughter, Brenda J. Fischer and her husband, Frederick W. of Baltimore; two grandchildren, Charles J. Miller, Jr. and Cheryl L. Cutchin; two great-grandchildren, Alicia and Stevie Cutchin; and two stepdaughters, Patricia Offensend of Linesville, Pa. and Carolyn Johnson of Salisbury. A funeral service will be held Friday, January 22, 2010 at 2 p.m. at the Short Funeral Home, 13 East Grove Street in Delmar, where friends and family may call from 1-2 p.m. Interment will follow the services in Melsons Cemetery in Delmar.
