Ralph Benson Doyle, Jr., 59, of Salisbury, passed away Wednesday, March 13, 2024 at TidalHealth Peninsula Regional Hospital. He was born May 9, 1964 in Salisbury, a son of Anna Mae Rounds and step-father who raised him as his own, William T. Rounds of Delmar and the late Ralph Benson Doyle, Sr. Ralph graduated from Chincoteague High School with the class of '83, where he played baseball and football. After graduation he worked several years at Salisbury University before transferring to the Department of Juvenile Services, where he had worked the past 12 years. Ralph's passion was cars as he loved mud trucks, street rods and had a few of his own hot rods that he loved to tinker on. Ralph never met a stranger and no matter where he was, he could run into someone he knew. Ralph loved people and was happiest in a crowd at the Salisbury Moose or VFW Post 194 in Salisbury, where he was a member. He enjoyed shooting pool and hanging out with his pool league buddies on the "Chalk Full of Nuts" and "Sorry Not Sorry" teams. He was a devoted and faithful Pittsburgh Steelers fan. Ralph will be best remembered as an outgoing, friendly, caring and loving son, father, grandfather, brother, companion and friend to many. In addition to his mother, he is survived by his significant other, Leslie White; children, Gina Doyle of Salisbury, Noel Baker (fiancé', Jacob Miller) and children, James Baker and Josiah Miller, of Salisbury, and Darin Doyle (Cassidy Rogers) and children, Levi Shockley and Briar Doyle of Clay, PA; siblings, Kimberly Doyle, Theodore "Ted" Rounds, Kristy Doyle, Robin Scholl and Beth Doyle; and many nieces, nephews and close friends. In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by sister, Catherin Dawley; and an infant grandson, Colton Scott Doyle. A celebration of Ralph's life will be held on Tuesday, March 26, 2024 at 12:00 p.m. at Short Funeral Home in Delmar, where a visitation for family and friends will be held from 11:00 to 12:00.
