Obituary

Penny Bradford, 80, of Salisbury, Maryland, earned her wings and entered eternal life on September 10, 2026, surrounded by her loving family. Her family finds comfort in knowing that she is now at peace, reunited with loved ones who went before her, and resting in the presence of the Lord.

Penny was the beloved daughter of the late Roscoe and Kitty Dennis and the devoted wife of the late James "Jimmy" Bradford. She was also preceded in death by her son, Wayne Bradford. She was a loving mother to Robin Gravenor and her husband, Albert, and a proud grandmother to Ross and Lara Bradford, Ryan and Stormy Bradford, Brooke and Michael Jean-Charles, and Julie and Connor Spedden. Her great-grandchildren, Ava, James, Jaxton, Jessie, and Cora Bradford, brought her tremendous joy. She is also survived by her brother, Greg Dennis, and his wife, Bett; daughter-in-law, Crystal Garnett; her sister-in-law, Susan Bradford; and several nieces and nephews.

Penny was well known throughout the Salisbury community as the owner of Kitty Flowers, where her creativity, love of flowers, and warm personality touched many lives over the years. She was a lifelong member of Bethesda United Methodist Church, where she proudly started the monthly soup and chicken salad luncheon. Her faith and desire to serve others were an important part of her life. Penny also gave generously of her time to the community. She served as a board member of Women Supporting Women, reflecting her caring spirit and commitment to helping others at the grassroots level here on the Eastern Shore. She was also active in Soroptimist International of Salisbury for many years.

Penny loved to travel and was always ready to pick up and go. Whether she was camping across the country with her family, cruising with friends, checking an Alaskan adventure off her bucket list, or traveling to florist conventions, she embraced every opportunity to see new places, make memories, and enjoy the journey. Above all else, Penny loved her family. Being surrounded by the people she loved meant everything to her, and she treasured the time spent with her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and cherished friends. She also had a special love for hummingbirds and deeply appreciated the beauty of flowers. Penny will be remembered for her loving heart, her devotion to family, her creativity, her faith, her adventurous spirit, and the many ways she cared for others. Her presence will be deeply missed, but the love she gave and the memories she created will remain with her family and friends always.
