SALISBURY- Peggy Joanne (Bowden) Malone, 75, died Sunday, July 12, 2015 at Peninsula Regional Medical Center in Salisbury. She was born June 10, 1940 in Salisbury, a daughter of the late Thomas Franklin Bowden and Louise Elizabeth (Cooper) Bowden. Joanne graduated from Mardela High with the class of 1958. She attended Cross Point Church of the Nazarene in Salisbury for many years. Though she worked various jobs through the years, her most important was being a homemaker, which was a job she took seriously. She was an excellent cook and always seemed to cook more than needed. She will be remembered for her dumplings and always cooked by memory, never needing a recipe. Playing bingo with her bingo buddies was a favorite past time. Her grandchildren were her pride and joy and nothing made her happier than spending time with them. She is survived by her husband of 54 years, Clifton Glenn Malone; a daughter, Andrea Leigh Malone Redden and husband, John of Salisbury; a son, Kevin Cooper Malone and wife, Stacie Louise of Salisbury; three precious grandchildren, Kyle Alexander Redden, Kolby Nicholas Redden and Emily Louise Malone; a sister-in-law, Mary Louise Bowden Richardson; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Gary Thomas Bowden. A graveside funeral service will be held on Thursday, July 16, 2015 at 2:00 p.m. at Parsons Cemetery in Salisbury. Pastor Joel Beiler will officiate. Memorial contributions may be made in her memory to the American Heart Association, Memorial Processing Center, P.O.Box 5216, Glen Allen, VA 23058.
