Pauline E. Murray Cordrey, 90, went to be with Jesus on Monday, March 26, 2012. Born on October 26, 1921, in Allen, she was the daughter of the late William and Ruby Richardson Murray of Hebron Pauline was employed by Manhattan Shirt Factory for over 40 years. Her first love was her Lord, and she dedicated her life to serving Him and her church. When Pauline married Barney in 1942, she became a member of Nelson Memorial United Methodist Church; and this year celebrated a 70-year membership. During those 70 years, she was, among many other things, a dedicated Sunday school teacher, MYF leader, choir member, and member of the Young Adult Class. Pauline's second love was her husband and her children. She spent many tireless hours as a dedicated, creative, and talented homemaker, excelling in whatever she attempted. To her family, she exemplified the meaning of wife and mother. Her hobby and joy was propagating and growing flowers and surrounded her home with the results of the green thumb she was born with. For years, her flower arrangements graced the altar table of her church, as well as special occasions and weddings. She is predeceased by her husband of 58 years, Edward "Barney" Cordrey also of Hebron; sisters-in-law, Fannie Murray and Thelma Cordrey; brother-in-law, Richard Cordrey; and niece, Trudy Taylor, all of Salisbury. Surviving are her children, Jim Cordrey (Abby) of Baltimore, and Judy Stark (Chuck) of Florence, SC; her brothers, William Murray of Salisbury, and Albert Murray (Harriet) of Hebron; nieces and nephews, Pat DeBoy (Mike) of Ocean Pines, Millie Dunlap (Rob) of Newark, DE, Becky Fox (Tim) of Glen Mills, PA, Charles Cordrey of Richmond, VA, Beverley Lynch (Dick), Tonya Twigg (Greg), Kari Childs (Matt) all of Salisbury, Jennifer and Kim DeBoy of Ocean Pines, Hanna, Tim, and Will Fox of Glen Mills, PA; and many other beloved nieces and nephews. Of special mention is her Nelson Memorial United Methodist Church family and her Calcutt Law Firm family in Florence, SC. A funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, March 28, 2012 at Nelson Memorial United Methodist Church, 200 N. Main Street in Hebron. Family and friends may call one hour prior to the service. The Reverend James W. Riley, Jr. will officiate. The interment will follow the services at Springhill Memory Gardens in Hebron.
