Obituary

Pauline S. Davis, 93, of Delmar, passed away Monday, July 29, 2013 at Coastal Hospice at the Lake in Salisbury. She was born November 23, 1919 in Delmar, a daughter of the late Reuben and Cora Mae Parsons. Pauline was a very devoted and loving wife, mother, grandmother, and friend to many she thought of as family. She will be remembered as a wonderful cook, especially for her homemade cinnamon rolls. She also enjoyed being a cook in the cafeteria of Pittsville School. For many years, she worked as a bookkeeper for the family business, Davis Logging Company. She was a lifelong member of Line United Methodist Church. She is survived by two sons, Emory Davis, Jr. (Libby) and Donald Davis (Sue); a daughter, Pauline White (Gary), all of Delmar; two grandsons, Michael Davis (Kim) of Salisbury and Steve White (Penny) of Delmar; three great-granddaughters, Morgan Powell (Ian) and Molly Davis all of Salisbury and Preslea White of Delmar; a sister, Myrtle Spear (Bob) of Laurel, a brother-in-law, Bill Calloway of Salisbury; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Emory J. Davis, Sr., and seven sisters and six brothers. A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, August 2, 2013 at Line United Methodist Church in Delmar. Family and friends may call one hour prior to the service. The Reverends Doug Griffith and James Hitch will officiate. Interment will follow at Line Cemetery. In memory of Mrs. Davis, contributions may be sent to Line United Methodist Church, c/o Mr. John Powell, 17109 Arvey Road, Laurel, DE 19956.
