It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Paul Franklin Adkins, a loving father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, who left this world on Saturday, May 10, 2025, at his home in Laurel, at the age of 86. Born on October 4, 1938, in New Castle, Delaware, Paul spent much of his life in Laurel, Delaware, where he made lasting memories with his family. Paul graduated from Wi-Hi in 1957 and went on to dedicate 43 years of his working life as a sheet metal mechanic with C.C. Oliphant in Laurel. His work ethic and skills were well-respected, and he took immense pride in what he did. A proud veteran, Paul served his country in the U.S. Navy, a chapter of his life that he held dear. He leaves behind a legacy of love and devotion to his family. Paul is survived by his son, Jeffrey Adkins (Donna), his daughter, Sara Adkins, and his brothers, Tommy Adkins (Rose), Marion Adkins, and Alton Adkins (Ellen). He was also a cherished grandfather to Phillip Adkins (Danielle), Jeffrey Adkins (Ashleigh), John Adkins, and Russell Adkins, and great-grandfather to Liam, Sadie, Miranda, Braden, Addison and Avery. Paul was preceded in death by his parents, Dorothy Mae (Moore) Adkins and Marion C. Adkins, his wife, Alice Faye (Kunde) Adkins, daughter, Eloise Massey (Raymond), grandchildren, Faith, Douglas Short, II, and Paul Kully, great-grandchildren, Emma and Daniel, brother, Robert Adkins, and a sister, Eloise Yount. A graveside service will be held at 11:00 am on Friday, May 16, 2025, at Springhill Memory Gardens in Hebron, providing a space for family and friends to celebrate Paul's life and the countless memories he created.
