DELMAR- Patricia L. Antion, "Patty", 78, of Delmar, died Tuesday, January 3, 2017 at her home in Delmar, surrounded by her loving family. She was born July 12, 1938 in Washington, Pennsylvania, a daughter of the late William and Luella Ashmore. Patty graduated from Claysville High school with the class of 1956. She worked as a pharmacy technician at the Medicine Shoppe in Lakewood, New Jersey for about 15 years, a job she truly enjoyed. She attended Delmar Wesleyan Church and most recently, Wesley United Methodist Church in Seaford. Patty was a long time Elvis Presley fan and an avid sports fan. She loved working in her garden, collecting giraffes, crocheting afghans for family and friends and was a beautiful piano player. Most of all, she will be remembered as a loving wife, mother and grandmother and friend to many. She is survived by her husband of 57 years, Franklin R. Antion, who she married November 8, 1959; children, Michael J. Antion, James R. Antion, Amy M. Antion and her husband, Daniel Petrucci, and Franklin J. Antion; grandchildren, Marie Danielle Boyle and fiancé, David Ricks and Michael Christopher Boyle and fiancée, Rachael Hall; a great grandson, Timothy James Boyle; a daughter-of-the-heart, Denise Mason; and a brother, Daniel Ashmore and wife, Charlotte. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, William T. Ashmore; and sisters, Elizabeth Latimer and Joan Lyle. A visitation will be held at Short Funeral Home in Delmar on Sunday, January 8, 2016 from1:00 to 3:00 p.m., followed by a funeral service which begins at 3:00 p.m. She would be honored and overjoyed to know her funeral was to be held on Elvis' birthday.
