Obituary

Norman Scotton, born on January 13, 1958, in Salisbury, Maryland, passed away peacefully on Monday, December 30, 2024. He was a son of the late Kenneth Scotton Sr. and Norma Grace (Dill) Scotton. Although Norman faced many challenges throughout his life, including health struggles, he remained a steadfast symbol of resilience and determination. A cherished son, father, grandfather, brother, and friend, he dedicated many years to his work that he loved as a truck driver, traveling across countless roads and landscapes, which allowed him to forge connections with people from all walks of life. He found joy in the simple pleasures-he was happiest when spending time with his family. Always in the bleachers cheering on Josh on the baseball field or soccer pitch, he was Josh's biggest fan. He carried that forward as a Pop Pop to Reid and looked forward to supporting him also on the tee-ball or soccer field. Norm, as he was fondly known, is survived by his beloved son, Joshua Scotton and wife, Stephanie; his beloved grandson, Reid; another grandchild expected in February; his sister, Bonnie Scotton; his sister-in-law, Eunice Scotton; a niece, Cameron; a half-sister, Darlene Sturgeon; and his longtime friend and companion, Karen Smith. Together, they shared countless memories that will forever be etched in their hearts, reminding all who knew him of his unwavering love and support. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Kenneth Scotton, Jr. A celebration of Norman's life will be held on Saturday, January 11, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. at Short Funeral Home in Delmar, where a visitation for friends and family will be held from 10:00 to 11:00. Following the services, family and friends are welcome to join Norm's family at the VFW in Delmar for a time of food and fellowship. As we remember Norman, let us focus on the laughter, love, and lessons he imparted to those around him. He will be deeply missed but never forgotten-a true testament to a life well-lived. In lieu of flowers, the family encourages contributions to the Delmar Little League, P.O. Box 518, Delmar, DE 19940, honoring Norman's generous spirit and love of sports and helping others. Arrangements are in the care of Short Funeral Home of Delmar. Online condolences may be shared with the family by visiting www.shortfh.com.
