Obituary

DELMAR- Norma Lee Ford, 85, of Delmar, passed away on Sunday, August 5, 2018 at Peninsula Regional Medical Center in Salisbury. She was born October 7, 1932 in Delmar, a daughter of the late Medford Francis Elliott and Myrtle Oliphant Elliott. In her younger days she worked at Reed's Drug Store in Salisbury before spending 19 years as a machine operator at DuPont in Seaford. She was a member of the ladies auxiliary of the American Legion Post 94 in Princess Anne. She enjoyed traveling with her late husband, Jack and was especially fond of going to the Skipjack races. She loved reading, animals and crocheting and will be remembered as a collector of lighthouses and teddy bears. In her later days she loved watching television and was a big fan of "The Golden Girls." She is survived by a sister, Linda Elliott Deiter of Alexandria, Virginia. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Jack O. Ford who passed in 2010; a brother, Francis E. "Mutt" Elliott; and a brother-in-law, Ron Deiter. A visitation for family and friends will be held on Monday, August 13, 2018 from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at Short Funeral Home in Delmar, followed by a funeral service which will begin at 11:00. Interment will follow the services at St. Stephen's Cemetery in Delmar. Arrangements are in the care of Short Funeral Home in Delmar.
