Delmar—Nola Marie Crockett, 89, of Delmar, passed away Monday, May 27, 2013 at Peninsula Regional Medical Center in Salisbury, Maryland. She was born June 19, 1923 in Tangier, Virginia, a daughter of the late Colbourn and Donna Parks. Nola resided in Baltimore for many years, where she worked for Hochschild Kohn department stores. She was a member of The First Baptist Church of Delmar. She will be remembered as a devoted wife, mother, and grand-mother. She is survived by a son; C. Ronald Crockett (Ellen Callahan) of Gaithersburg, Maryland; a daughter, Donna Crockett-Gilkerson (Tony) of Salisbury; four grandchildren, Christopher and Joseph Gilk¬erson and Michael and Katie Crockett; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Ashby Crockett; a brother, Merrill Parks; and a sister, Gladys Crockett. A funeral service will be held on Thursday, May 30, 2013 at 1:00 p.m. at Short Funeral Home in Delmar, where family and friends may call from 12:00 to 1:00. Interment will follow the services at Springhill Memory Gardens in Hebron. Memorial contributions may be made in her memory to First Baptist Church of Delmar, P.O. Box 200, Delmar, DE 19940.
