Nellie A. Justice, 80, of Laurel, died Tuesday, June 18, 2013 at her home in Laurel, surrounded by her loving family. She was born on August 13, 1932 in Laurel, a daughter of the late Charles "CK" Henry and Julia Hitch Henry. She was a member of Bayview Baptist Church in Laurel and formerly taught youth Sunday school classes at Centenary United Methodist Church. She worked for many years as a clerk and a cook at various places such as Uncle Willie's and Britt's Market. She was an excellent cook who enjoyed cooking for family and friends who loved her chicken and dumplings and homemade biscuits. Nellie was a true animal lover and will be missed by her beloved cat, "Goldie." Her family was her pride and joy and she loved going to Little League games to watch her sons and grandson play. She is survived by her husband of 56 years, Hoyet A. Justice; two sons, Tim Justice and his wife, Billie Jo of Delmar and John Justice and his wife, Jennifer of Laurel; 4 grandchildren, Kelsie Justice, Raelyn Huffman, Rachel Justice and Andrew Justice; and a sister, Jean Henry Holston and her husband, Jerry of Laurel. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews. The family would like express their sincere thanks to the special caregivers who took such good care of Nellie. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by 2 brothers, James Henry and Pete Henry. A funeral service will be held Saturday, June 22, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. at Bayview Baptist Church in Laurel, where family and friends may call from 10:00 to 11:00. Pastors C.K. White and Ray Justice will officiate. Interment will follow at Laurel Hill Cemetery in Laurel.
