Obituary

Nancy Ellen Elliott from Delmar, DE passed away peacefully, surrounded by her family and Friends, at her home in Millsboro on March 6, 2024. Nancy was born on December 28, 1951. She was the daughter of the late Robert C Elliott Sr and Blanche K Elliott. Nancy worked for Kent Sussex Industries for many years, and then for Chimes Delaware prior to her retirement. She was feisty and quick witted. Nancy was always eager to go to work. Unlike many of us she would be upset if she heard snow was headed our way as that could mean she would not be able to go to work. She earned numerous awards and honors over the years for being an exemplary employee. She had a lifelong love for music, especially country music. Nancy had the honor of meeting two of her favorites. The first was Merle Haggard and the second was LeAnn Rimes. In addition to her love for music, collecting Barbie dolls was her next favorite hobby. Nancy was loved by many, and our family was truly blessed to have her in our lives. She taught us so many things about life, far more than we taught her. Those of us who were blessed to know her are all better people for having her in our lives. She enriched our lives in immeasurable ways over the years. Nancy is survived by her siblings, Peggy Bowden White and her husband Randy of Delmar, Robert C Elliott Jr. and his wife Susan of Delmar, and Mary Jane Evans and her husband Jeff of Salisbury. She also leaves behind the following nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews, Tammy Horn and her husband Mike of Delmar and their children, Maddi and Michael... Greg Baker and his wife Meg of Delmar and their children, Tyler, Desiree, Megan, Nathan, Kylie, and Bryce... Shane Bowden and his wife Kara of Delmar and their children, Cole and Kellan... Aaron Bowden and his wife Jennifer of Stevensville MD and their children Taylor and Chace...Lindsey Barbacow and her husband Kyle of Delmar and their children, Ellie and Lillie...Brittany Mitchell and her husband Ryan of Delmar and their children, Liam and Maren, and Mallory Buckley and her husband Joey of Delmar, and their son Baker. She leaves behind her friends of many years, Arlene, and Sandie. Last and most certainly not least, Nancy leaves the greatest unsung heroes in the world, Ida Rainey Dawson, Lolita Stanley, Lelie Drummond, Makesha Bailey, Sheila Ross, Joyce Mears, Dinelle Savage, and Lisa Green. We know you all loved her too. There are no words to express how grateful we are for getting to know each of you and watching the love you all shared with us for Nancy. A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, March 12, 2024 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Stephen's Cemetery in Delmar. Pastor Mike Phillips will officiate.
