Michael James Vincent, 57, of Fairfax, Virginia passed away peacefully on Saturday, September 18, 2021. Mike was born in Salisbury, MD, to parents Lee and Elaine Vincent on Nov. 16, 1963. A 1981 Wicomico Senior High School graduate, Mike worked at United Business Technologies as a color specialist until his sudden heart failure in January. He became a heart transplant patient on Feb. 19, 2021, at Inova Fairfax Heart Institute. After 117 days in the hospital, Mike moved to Salisbury in June to be with family as he recovered. Although he fought a valiant fight, Mike survived just 7 months post-transplant. He is preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Warden and Florence Horsman, and paternal grandparents, Bud Vincent and Myrtle Shockley. He is survived by his son, Zachary Vincent of Towson; sister, Kris Gosnell (Lee) of Salisbury; niece, Karli Gosnell; uncle, Buddy Vincent (Claudette) of Salisbury; aunt, Diane Hammond of Salisbury; mother, Elaine Vincent of Salisbury; father, Lee Vincent of Salisbury; and dear family friend, Diane Powell. Mike is also survived by the light of his life, his Golden Retriever, Shelby. The family would like to extend their heartfelt thanks to Inova Fairfax Hospital and the anonymous heart donor family for enabling Mike to have a transplant and a chance to extend his life.
