DELMAR- Maurice E. Niblett, Sr., 93, of Delmar, died Saturday, December 11, 2010 at Coastal Hospice at the Lake in Salisbury. He was born January 27, 1917 in Salisbury, a son of the late John Niblett and Sarah Elizabeth Donoway Niblett. Maurice proudly served his country in the US Army during WWII. He was handy with tools and for many years built homes with his brother. He loved the outdoors, hunting and dearly loved dogs all of his life. He was a founding member of the Laurel Sportsman's Beagle Club and the Peninsula Beagle Club. Music was also a passion as he was a self-taught accomplished guitar player. He is survived by three sons, Maurice E. Niblett, Jr., Ricky Dean Niblett and Kenny Niblett, all of Delmar; a daughter, Karon and her husband, John of Delmar; a sister, Libby Niblett of Delmar; grandsons, Maurice Niblett, III, Ricky Niblett, Jr., Brandon Niblett and Dusan Naumovic; granddaughters, Sheri Naumovic and Tammy and her husband David; seven other loved grandchildren; and twenty-one great grandchildren. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Edna Cox Niblett, who was the love of his life, a daughter, Shirley Niblett and several brothers and sisters. Everyone who knew and loved him are welcome to attend a visitation that will be held on Wednesday, December 15, 2010 from 7:00 to 8:30 p.m. at Short Funeral Home, 13 E. Grove Street, Delmar, and also on Thursday from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m., where a service will begin Thursday at 11:00.Bishop Greg Cox will officiate.
