Obituary

LAUREL- Mary Anne Reed, 71, of Laurel, died Wednesday, July 20, 2011 at her home in Laurel, surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Brinkley, Arkansas, a daughter of the late John Leo Wiesle and Elizabeth Rose (Deurling) Wiesle. She worked raising chickens for 30 years, although her number one job was being a wife, mother and grandmother and raising her family. Alongside of her husband and family, she loved to travel and had visited almost every state. She also loved to bowl, was an avid reader and spent hours playing board games and reading to her grandchildren. She was a great cook and seamstress. Her children and grandchildren will forever cherish the handmade quilts she made special for each one of them. She was a birdwatcher and was especially fond of the hummingbirds and yellow finches that visited her many birdfeeders. She attended Central Worship Center in Laurel with her family for a number of years. She is survived by her husband of 51 years, Boyd A. Reed; 3 children, Deborah Lynn Adkins and her husband, Grover of Delmar, Robert Alan Reed of Laurel and Janet Anne Yost and her husband, Stephen of Puyallup, Washington; 7 grandchildren, Kristin Joseph, Jackie Morris, Julia Shockley, Megan Reed, Andrew Reed, Ryan Yost and Mary Yost; sisters, Theresa Jackson of Fritch, Texas, Pauline Willcut of Pacific, Missouri, and Angela Hinton and her husband, Louie of Brinkley, Arkansas; brothers, Clarence Wiesle and his wife, Peggy of Wheatley, Arkansas and Joe Wiesle and his wife, Anna Sue of Brinkley, Arkansas; and a host of nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Kathryn Miles and brothers, Johnny Wiesle and Tommy Wiesle. A funeral service will be held on Sunday, July 24, 2011 at 2:00 p.m. at Short Funeral Home in Delmar, where family and friends may call from 1:00 to 2:00. The family would like everyone to wear colorful attire to help celebrate Mom's love of life & color. Pastor Tim Dukes will officiate. Interment will be in Calvary Cemetery in Brinkley, Arkansas at a later date. Memorial contributions may be made in her memory to Delmar Fire Department, P.O. Box 143, Delmar, DE 19940.
