Mary Louise Heiser, age 86, of Girdletree, died Tuesday, November 27, 2007 at her home in Girdletree. She was born on April 30, 1921 in Manokin, Maryland, a daughter of the late Emil and Georgie Crissey Zueger. Mary worked many years as a seamstress at the Solloway Sewing Factory in Snow Hill. She wallpapered many homes in the Snow Hill area where she developed quite a reputation for the quality of her work. She enjoyed helping family and friends by also working as a private sitter for the elderly. She was a member of Spence Baptist Church in Snow Hill, where she worked in the nursery, attended various Bible study groups and was active in the JOY Group where she enjoyed the activities and trips. She was an avid bingo player. She loved spending time with her family and especially looked forward to preparing the annual Christmas family dinner, which would take weeks to prepare. She is survived by 3 sons, Bill, Martin and Kenny Heiser, all of Snow Hill; 5 daughters, Florence Clarke, Margaret Ann Phillips and Ruth Watson, all of Snow Hill, and Emily Bradford of Wallops Island, and Dorothy Brittingham of New Church, VA; a sister, Margaret Laverne of South Carolina; 17 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by 2 sons, Robert Zueger and Charles R. Heiser, Sr.; 2 brothers, Martin Zueger and King Brittingham; a sister, Maude Bowling; and 2 grandchildren. A funeral service will be held on Saturday, December 1, 2007 at 11:00 a.m. at Spence Baptist Church, 7603 Spence Church Road, Snow Hill, MD, where family and friends may call from 10:00 to 11:00. The Reverend Kenneth Elligson will officiate. Interment will follow the services in Spence Baptist Cemetery.
