Mary F. Gordy Chase, 79, of Fruitland, passed away on Monday, April 26, 2021 at Wicomico Nursing Home in Salisbury. She was the youngest and last surviving of her five siblings of Walter D. and Ella Cottingham Gordy. The majority of her career was spent as an L.P.N. at the Eastern Shore State Hospital (now Eastern Shore Hospital Center). Her career there spanned over 35 years. She grew up in Snow Hill and moved to Cambridge for nursing school and after graduation began working at E.S.S.H. until her retirement. Mary dearly loved feeding the birds and over the years had many cats and dogs as her furry children. She is survived by her son, David A. Dail and his wife, Starlin Weaver; a sister-in-law, Alice Lee Gordy; several nieces and nephews; and special neighbors, Kevin McGalicher and Vanessa Perdue. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by four siblings and their spouses, Louise McGrath (Charles), Lura Adkins (Lloyd), Paul D. Gordy (Anna), and Richard C. Gordy.
