Mary Carpenter, 84, was born on March 20, 1942, in Cirencester, England, to the late Cecil and Edith Mullis. She passed away on October 4, 2026, in Salisbury, Maryland.

Mary was a loving mother, grandmother, and caregiver. She was known for her generous heart and her willingness to help others. Caring for the people around her was simply part of who she was, and she will be remembered for the kindness and compassion she showed to so many throughout her life.

She is survived by her life partner, Edward Hughes; her daughter, Deb Carpenter of Harrisburg, Pennsylvania; her son, Gary Carpenter Jr. of New Cumberland, Pennsylvania; and her four grandchildren. 

She was preceded in death by her parents, Cecil and Edith Mullis.

A private cremation will be held. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association in Mary's memory.
