Obituary

MILLSBORO- Mary Diane Rowbottom Baker, 70, of Pots Nets Landing in Millsboro, and formerly of Salisbury, passed away on Saturday, February 7, 2015 at her home, surrounded by family and friends. She was born August 8, 1944 in Kentucky, a daughter of the late Mary Helen and James L. Rowbottom. Diane earned her Bachelor's degree in Science from Salisbury University and her Master's in Education. She worked as a biology teacher at James M. Bennett High and most recently worked as a medical technician. She was a gifted artist and gardener and an avid dog lover. She was a cherished member of the Rowbottom family who did it "her way." She is survived by six siblings, Jean Keating, Patricia Rowbottom, Janet Ervin (Jack), Kathleen Eaves (Irvin), James Rowbottom (Sylvia) and Michelle Yokois (Gary); and several nieces and nephews. She is also survived by her best buds, "Charlie" and "Andy", her two Yorkies. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Dr. Robert L. Baker; and a brother, Thomas Rowbottom. A celebration of her life will be held at a later date.
