Marvin Parker Gibbs, 86, of Delmar passed away peacefully on Friday, March 1, 2024 at his home surrounded by his loving family. He was born on November 2, 1937 in Delmar, Delaware, a son of the late Raymond and Katie Parker Gibbs. Marvin was a member of Faith Baptist Church in Delmar. For many years he owned and operated Service Master and also worked for Complete Cleaning. He is survived by his wife, Helena Gibbs; children, Marvin Lynn Gibbs (Tina Walker) and Linda Le Blanc; grandchildren, Jessica Gibbs, Timothy Gibbs, Tara Gibbs, Dawn Gunby, Tyler Hill, and Sarah Hill; great grandchildren, Kirsten Montague, Renee Montague, Benjamin Montague, Eliza Johnson, and Abigail Gunby; sister, Betty Lutes; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Claudette Gibbs; siblings, Bobby Gibbs, Junior Gibbs, Marcy Gibbs, Howard Gibbs, Florence Stallings, and Virginia Mitchell; and son-in-law, Jeff LeBlanc. A funeral service will be held at Noon on Saturday, March 9, 2024 at Faith Baptist Church, 1207 E. State Street in Delmar. A visitation for family and friends will be held one hour prior to the service. Pastor Paul Hall will officiate. Interment will follow in St. Stephen's Cemetery in Delmar.
