She was born on June 8, 1960 in Germany, a daughter of Andree Colavecchio and the late Max Parsons. Along with her family, Martine owned and managed The Dugout restaurant and lounge in Seaford for the past 16 years. She was an active member of the Seaford Chamber of Commerce and SCORE. She was a breeder of Maltese's and loved all animals, and got satisfaction from feeding and caring for the many stray dogs and cats that would show up at her doorstep. She had a kind and gentle spirit and everyone who knew her loved her. In addition to her mother, she is survived by a daughter, Jennifer Garland; a son, Brandon Valliere; a brother, Alan Parsons; a sister, Debra Whitcraft; and nieces and nephews, Jonathan, Matthew, Amy, Alex and Hailey. A funeral service will be held on Saturday, February 10, 2007 at 3:00 p.m. at Short Funeral Home, 13 E. Grove Street, Delmar, where family and friends may call from 2:00 to 3:00.
