SNOW HILL- Martha E. Adkins, 91, of Snow Hill, died Friday, November 26, 2010 at Anchorage Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Salisbury. She was born June 16, 1919 in Summit, North Carolina, a daughter of the late William and Eliza Fleenor. Mrs. Adkins was an accomplished seamstress and a proud homemaker. She loved to crochet, make dresses, quilts and rugs for her family and friends. Her greatest joy in life came from raising her children and grandchildren. Fishing and playing cards were some of her favorite hobbies. The family would like to give a special thank you to the staff of Anchorage Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Salisbury for the care and support given to their mother and grandmother. She is survived by four children, Della Marvel of Snow Hill, Joe Adkins and his wife, Barbara of Laurel, Delaware, Tony Adkins and his wife, Shirley of Salisbury and M.H. Adkins and his wife, Patty of Pocomoke; a daughter-in-law, Edna Akins of Powellville; two sisters, Lillian Jones and Annabelle Fleenor, both of North Carolina; and many grandchildren and spouses, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Marshall Herman Adkins, who passed in 1980; a daughter, Agnes Murphy and her husband, Clayton; a son, Dewey Adkins; and a son-in-law, Bud Marvel. A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, December 1, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. at Short Funeral Home, Delmar, where family and friends may call from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00. Interment will follow at Mt.
