LAUREL, DE- Marguerite Cathleen Kaniecki, 73, of Laurel, DE formerly of Reisterstown, MD passed away Monday, January 11, 2016 surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Bay Shore, New York, daughter of the late Andrew and Catherine (Haynes) Hiebler. Marguerite graduated from Notre Dame Preparatory School in Towson, MD before earning her degree at Villa Julie College in Stevenson, MD. She was very active with Sacred Heart Parish and School in Glyndon, MD and also worked as a medical and law secretary, and as an insurance agent. She cherished her roles as a wife, mother and grandmother. She is survived by her husband of 53 years Stanley R. Kaniecki, Sr.; four children, Stanley R., Jr. "Butch", Michael, Jacqueline, and Michelle (Tim); eight grandchildren, Justin, Bailey, Maxwell, Landon, Alexandra, Caleb, Magdalena and Henry; sister, MaryJean Fisher (Ronald); and brothers, Andrew Hiebler (Audrey) and James Hiebler (Ann) as well as seven nieces and nephews. A visitation for family and friends will be held on Thursday, January 14, 2016 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Short Funeral Home in Delmar, DE and also Friday, January 15, 2016 from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. at St. Francis de Sales Church, in Salisbury, MD. A Mass will follow in the church Friday at 11:00 a.m. Burial will be private.
