Margaret Ellen Brush (Mathews) Bonenfant – born May 8, 1933, of Delmar, DE and a long-time resident of Eastport, NY, passed away on Tuesday, July 28, 2009, surrounded by her children, at the Delaware Hospice Center. Her husband, Ronald C. Bonenfant and her son, Steven M. Mathews, predeceased her. Margaret is survived by her children and stepchildren: Edward R. Mathews Jr. and wife Pat of Edenton, NC; Gary J. Mathews and wife Dawn of Georgetown, DE; William R. Mathews and Valerie Witkowski of Quantico, MD; Kevin T. Mathews and wife Diana of Westhampton Beach, NY; Scott A. Mathews of Eastport, NY; Guy R. Mathews and wife Jennifer of Narrowsburg, NY; her daughter Marlene E. Mathews of Seaford, DE; Jane Mathews, widow of Steven, of Speonk, NY; Michael Bonenfant and wife Darrel of Smithtown, NY; James Bonenfant of Brentwood, NY; and Richard Bonenfant of Brentwood, NY; and by numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren and nieces and nephews. Margaret was the daughter of the late Harry and Margaret A. Brush of Eastport, NY. Her sisters, Gladys Detlefsen and Evelyn Brush and her brother, Robert Brush predeceased her. Her sisters, Lucille Holland of Phoenix, AZ, Harriet Horn of Punta Gorda, FL and her brother Thomas Brush of Bivalve, MD mourn her passing. Margaret enjoyed her family, reading, painting and sketching. She is deeply missed by her loved ones. In accordance with her wishes, in lieu of flowers, donations made in her memory to the charity of your choice will be kindly appreciated.
