Mamie Wright Bradley, 92, of Delmar, died peacefully at her home on Tuesday, October 26, 2010, surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Hebron on December 2, 1917, a daughter of the late Warner Mitchell Wright and Katie D. (Holiday) Wright. Mamie farmed all of her life, first as a youth, then with her late husband Marvin. She attended Hebron schools through the 10th grade, then graduated from Delmar High School in 1935. In the 1980's she worked as a clerk for Hecht Co. in Salisbury. She was a long time member of Mt. Hermon United Methodist Church in Columbia, Delaware. She is survived by three sisters, Agnes W. Mathey of Ft. Myers, Florida, Anna L. Wright of Wilmington, Delaware and Miriam Carey of Ft. Myers, Florida; several nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews and great great nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her beloved husband. Marvin E. Bradley, who passed in 1985; a sister, Nora Bennett; and three brothers, Wallace Wright, W. Lee Wright and John Wright. A funeral service will be held on Friday, October 29, 2010 at 1:00 p.m. at Short Funeral Home, 13 E. Grove Street, Delmar, where family and friends may call from 12:00 to 1:00. Interment will follow the services at St. Stephen's Cemetery in Delmar.
