Obituary

Malcolm P. McCarty, 90, of Mardela Springs, passed away on Saturday, December 25, 2021 at his home, surrounded by his loving family. He was born on November 25, 1931 in Camden, New Jersey, a son of the late Charles and Florence McCarty. After serving his country in the U.S. Army, Mal graduated from Delaware Valley College. He went to work for Bayer Corporation as a regional sales representative where he enjoyed working for 43 years. Mal loved his life on the Eastern Shore, fishing, boating, and just being on the water made him happiest. He was a member of the NFLCC and the Florida Tackle Association. He was also talented at carving decoys and was a member of the Ward Foundation and Delmarva Decoy Collectors Association. He was a member of the American Legion Post 64 and a past member of the Hebron Ruritan Club. He is survived by his wife, Jackie McCarty; children, Michael McCarty(Michelle), Lynne McCarty, Glenn McCarty (Kathy), Carlene Gerigitan (John), and Kenny McCarty(Valerie); step-sons, Mark Bridges and Gregg Bridges (Millie); 15 grandchildren; and 20 great grandchildren. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Doug McCarty. Funeral services will be private. Arrangements are in the care of Short Funeral Home in Delmar.
