Lurlene Dorries Burgamy, age 100, died Wednesday, April 22, 2015 at Coastal Hospice at the Lake in Salisbury. She was born August 9, 1914 in Cherokee County, Texas, a daughter of the late Henry Dorries and Eula Farmer Dorries. After meeting her first husband, Carl Shahan, they raised 2 daughters, Helen Brinkman and Martha Johnson. Carl passed away December 7, 1941. After marrying her second husband, Marvin Burgamy, they were blessed with another daughter, Jeanne Leivas Chamness. The family moved to Kingman, Arizona where Lurlene worked at the Mohave County Courthouse, retiring as deputy clerk of the superior court. Marvin passed away on July 21, 1954. She is survived by a daughter, Martha, of Delmar; grandchildren, James Johnson and wife, Brenda and Robert Johnson, all of Miami, Florida; David Brinkman and wife, Faith, Mike Brinkman, Terry Brinkman, Lori Porter and husband, Norman, all of Glendale, Arizona, Sharon Bryan, Brenda Tripp and husband, Norman, Ramona Leivas and Hank Leivas, all of Sacramento, California; and many great grandchildren, including Danielle Goodman, Trevor Johnson, Skyler Johnson of Maryland, Delaware and Florida, David Brinkman, Lori Porter, Terry Brinkman and Mike Brinkman, all of Arizona. She is also survived by many cherished great-great-great grandchildren. Services will be held at a later date in Arizona. Memorial contributions may be made in her memory to Coastal Hospice, P.O.
