DELMAR- Lucille E. Causey, 96, of Delmar, passed away on Tuesday, January 26, 2016 at Delmar Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. She was born April 29, 1919 in Princess Anne, a daughter of the late Harry M. and Mabel (Bradd) Hickman. She worked many years in the cafeteria as a server at Delmar Elementary and Delmar Jr.-Sr. High School, a job she truly loved. She was a long time, active member of St. Stephen's United Methodist Church in Delmar where she faithfully sung in the choir for over 50 years and was active in the U.M.W. circle. She volunteered at the Jr. Board at Peninsula Regional Medical Center where she was a lifetime member. She was an avid reader and loved her soap operas. She was good working with her hands, knitting, crocheting and sharing her blankets and afghans with her family. She is survived by sons, Kenneth Causey and wife, Donna of Delmar, Ralph H. Causey and wife, Pat of Seaford and Robert W. Causey and wife, Cynthia of Salisbury; grandchildren, Steve Causey, Kevin Causey, Mark Causey, Scott Causey, Tracy Baker, Andrea Croyle, Robbie Causey and Douglas Causey; six great grandchildren; and four great-great grandchildren. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews, and a lifelong friend since 5th grade, Loma Murray of Salisbury. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, H. Douglas Causey, who passed in 1972; her step-mother who raised her, Minnie Hickman; a sister, Peggy Jean Hall; and a brother, Glen Hickman. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, January 30, 2016 at 12:00 noon at St. Stephen's United Methodist Church in Delmar, where family and friends may call from 11:00 to 12:00. The Reverend Phyllis Walton will officiate. Interment will follow the services at St. Stephen's Cemetery in Delmar.
