OCEAN CITY- Louise R. Swontek, 77, of Ocean City, and formerly of Baltimore, died Saturday, August 15, 2015 at her son's home in Lewes. She was born December 6, 1937 in Baltimore, a daughter of the late John Edward Randall and Margaret Sophie (Cushing) Randall. In her earlier years Louise worked at Andy's Sub Shop in Baltimore, where she developed many long lasting friendships. After moving to Ocean City she loved her work as the manager of the Montego Bay Pool where she also had many friends. She was a mom to everyone and her home was always a welcome place for kids in the neighborhood. She is remembered as a proud and loving grandmother who was always supportive of her grandchildren's sports and school activities. She is survived by sons, John Anthony Swontek, III and wife, Maryanne of Baltimore and William (Bill) R. Swontek and wife, Karen of Lewes; five grandchildren, Heather, Stacy, Billy, Lindsey and Madi; a great grandchild, Peyton; a brother, Bill Randall of Baltimore; a sister, Frannie Emege of Easton; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, John Anthony Swontek, Jr, who passed in 2012 and several brothers and sisters. A memorial service will be held at St. Peter's Lutheran Church in Ocean City at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in her memory to the Delaware Hospice, 100 Patriots Way, Milford, DE 19963. Arrangements are in the care of Short Funeral Home in Delmar.
