Louie Johnson, 75, of Delmar passed away Wednesday, July 8, 2015 at Coastal Hospice at the Lake in Salisbury. He was born on April 29, 1940 in South Carolina, a son of the late Josephine White and Melvin Johnson. Louie worked as warehouse manager for Green Giant in Fruitland and Heineman Electric in Salisbury and later retired from Bozman's Floor Covering in Salisbury. He read the Bible every day and was an active member of Crossroads Church of God in Fruitland. He loved to garden and collect tools. He is survived by his wife, Carole Johnson of Delmar; three children, Joseph Carl Johnson (Linda) of Princess Anne, Adeana Lou Hopkins of Salisbury, and Millie Colleen King (William, Jr.) of Michigan; two step-children, Beth Gross (Roger) of Fruitland, and Paul Hamilton (Amy) of Millersville, Md; grandchildren, Ashley Chatham, Joseph Hopkins, Daniel Moore, Brian Mister, Heather Gross, Michael Gross, Drew Marino, and Jack Hamilton; six great grandchildren; a sister, Melva Jean McLeod (Albert) of South Carolina; and six nieces. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Johnny Lee Johnson. A visitation for family and friends will be held from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. on Monday, July 13, 2015 at Short Funeral Home in Delmar. A funeral service will begin at 1:00 p.m. Pastor Philip Morris, Sr. will officiate. Interment will follow the service at Wicomico Memorial Park in Salisbury.
