Obituary

Lottie F. Hitch, 76, of Delmar, passed away Tuesday, November 25, 2014 at Coastal Hospice at the Lake in Salisbury. She was born on November 11, 1938 in Salisbury, the daughter of the late Willis and Bertha Holloway. Lottie worked for John and Margie Engberg at Hayman Pharmacy in Salisbury for 19 years. The Engbergs and their children have been a very special part of Lottie's life for many years. She also enjoyed working at Classic Cuts, shampooing the many patrons that came in. She loved to play bingo and was a member of the "Sexy Seventies of the Fifties." She enjoyed sitting on the back porch of her daughters' home, just listening to the birds and admiring the trees. Lottie will be missed by her family and many friends, and will be remembered for her willingness to help anyone in need. She is survived by a daughter, Robin Pruitt (Don) of Salisbury; a son, Don Fisher (Glenda) of Delmar; grandchildren, Holly Hudson (Eric), Mallory Pruitt, Dustan Fisher (Sarah), and Jayme Fisher; great-grandchildren, Emma Hudson, Gabriel Fisher, and Leah Fisher; and longtime friends, Betty White, Margie Engberg, Sheila McDowell, and Linda Berg. She was preceded in death by a special longtime friend, Jeanne Wilkins. A funeral service will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Monday, December 1, 2014 at the Short Funeral Home, 13 E. Grove Street in Delmar. A visitation for family and friends will be held one hour prior to the service. The Reverend Howard Travers will officiate. Interment will follow the service at Wicomico Memorial Park in Salisbury. In memory of Mrs. Hitch, memorial contributions may be sent to Coastal Hospice, P.O. Box 1733, Salisbury, MD 21802.
