Obituary

Lois Hall Webster, 79, of Delmar, passed away Thursday, April 12, 2012 at her home surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Salisbury, a daughter of the late Dewey and Elsie Hall. Mrs. Webster was a graduate of Salisbury State. After graduation she began her teaching career at Mardela High School, from which she retired. She was a member of St. Stephens United Methodist Church in Delmar and a volunteer at Peninsula Regional Medical Center. She was Past President of the Delaware Federation of Women's Clubs and the Delmar New Century Club, and Past Worthy Matron of the Order of the Eastern Star. She and her husband enjoyed theatre, from Broadway to local production. She especially enjoyed classic musicals. Most importantly, she enjoyed time spent with her family. She is survived by her husband of 60 years, Robert J. Webster; a son, Robert H. Webster and his wife Anita of Newark, Delaware; three grandchildren, Mitty Downing-Webster, Emma Downing-Webster (John Gilroy) and Alexis Cutonilli (Kyle Montgomery); a special friend, Frances Lancaster ; and two special caretakers, Linda Bennett and Lori Bailey. A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, April 18, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. at Short Funeral Home in Delmar. Family and friends may call one hour prior to the service. The Reverend Phyllis Walton will officiate. Interment will follow the services in Smyrna Odd Fellows Cemetery. In memory of Mrs. Webster, contributions may be sent to Delaware Hospice, 100 Patriots Way, Milford, DE 19963. Arrangements are in the care of Short Funeral Home.
