Lois Mitchell (Krawczyk), 72, beloved wife, mother, and sister, passed away on October 13, 2024 at University of Maryland Medical Center in Baltimore after a brief illness. She was born on March 19, 1952 in Baltimore, MD. She was preceded in death by her parents, Marion Sr. and Catherine (Cass) Krawczyk; brothers, Marion Jr. and James; and Godson Michael Jr. She is survived by her husband, Wayne Mitchell; daughters, Jennifer Moore (John) and Robyn Dobbins (Matt); sons, Sean Mitchell and Michael Mitchell (Saundra); brother, Michael Krawczyk (Peggy); sister, Kathy Krawczyk (Phil Humphreys); sisters-in-law, Lorraine Krawczyk and Maureen Krawczyk; grandchildren, Tim, Abi, Noah, Mitchel, Laura, Conor, and Mara; and many nieces and nephews. Lois graduated from The Catholic High School of Baltimore in 1970. She retired from the transportation department of the Wicomico County Board of Education in Salisbury, MD. She enjoyed traveling, visiting family, reading, playing cards with friends and serving her community. Lois was an avid volunteer with St. Francis de Sales/Holy Redeemer Catholic Church. She earned the Order of Merit for outstanding contributions to the Diocese of Wilmington in 2008. She served for many years on the Parish Council and the RCIA team. She was Eucharistic Minister, Lector and Catechist of Youth. Lois also enjoyed leading bible study, feeding the hungry and ringing handbells. A visitation for family and friends will be held on Sunday, October 20, 2024, from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Short Funeral Home in Delmar. A Memorial Mass will be held on Monday, October 21, 2024 at 11:00 a.m. at Holy Redeemer Catholic Church in Delmar. Interment will follow at St. Stephen's Cemetery Park.
