Lisa G. Hunter passed on Monday, July 14, 2025 at home. She was married to Michael L. Hunter on October 18, 1980 who earlier passed on February 2, 2023. Together, they had one daughter, Lynda Hunter Anderson, one son in law, whom she thought of as a son, Brian Anderson, and one granddaughter, Kayla Hovatter, who was the light of her eyes, - "My Girl". Born on October 20, 1959 to the parents of Robert C. Wheatley and Irene F. Foskey Wheatley, who both preceded her in death, Lisa lived all her life in Delmar, Maryland. She is also preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, John and Lula Foskey as well as paternal grandparents, James and Frona Wheatley. Surviving Lisa is a loving sister, Arlene Wheatley and also her niece Adrianne Bleeker. She also has two maternal aunts who have survived her, Catherine "Kitty" Barlowe and Emma Jean Driscoll, along with several cousins. In addition, Lisa leaves behind two step-children, Michael Wells and Kristen LeBlanc and their families. After graduating from Delmar Jr/Sr High School in 1977, Lisa attended Wor-Wic and took several classes through the years. Lisa ran a daycare center out of her home from 1980 through 1985. She then had several other jobs, working for 10 years at Good News auto dealerships starting in 1992, then a regional manager for a correctional telephone company, Securus Technologies for the next 25 years. Lisa handled a team of up to 21 administrators and 8 technicians from Maine to South Carolina. She was known as "the phone lady" to many people throughout these states during those years. Finally, Lisa retired in January 2022 and was able to enjoy gardening, reading, and cruising. Lisa loved the Lord our God and his one and only son, Jesus. She tried to live life to the fullest while maintaining a quiet peaceful life. A graveside service will be held on Friday, July 18, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. at Smith Mills Cemetery in Delmar.
