NANTICOKE-Linwood Hunter, Jr., 83, of Nanticoke, died Friday, March 11, 2016 at the home of his son and daughter-in-law in Delmar. He was born September 8, 1932 in Hertford County, North Carolina, a son of the late Linwood Hunter, Sr. and Elsie Hunter. Linwood proudly served his country in the US Navy. Following his tour in the Navy, he used his skills as an electric motor repair man, working for Delmarva Electric Motors (DEMCO) in Salisbury, a job he thoroughly enjoyed for over 30 years. He was a true family man who enjoyed spending time with his late wife, children and grandchildren. For many years Linwood was a fixture at the roundtable of Wade's Coffee Club of Nanticoke and he was a member of the VFW Post 8276 of Delmar. He is survived by a daughter, Connie Sue Robertson of Salisbury; a son, Michael "Mike" L. Hunter and his wife, Lisa of Delmar; five grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; and a sister, Evie Mae Greene of Virginia. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Frances Ida (Estep) Hunter and two sisters. A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, March 15, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. at Short Funeral Home in Delmar, where family and friends may call from 10:00 to 11:00.
