Linda L. Wells, 78, of Millsboro, passed away on Wednesday, September 4, 2024, at TidalHealth Nanticoke Hospital in Seaford. Linda was the beloved owner of the Railroad Cafe in downtown Delmar for 27 years. Linda, a caring soul, cherished the time spent with the patrons of her cafe, making it a hub where the people of Delmar would come together to chat and share stories. Known for her caring nature, Linda spent many years looking after her mother and husband, embodying the role of a devoted caretaker. She found joy in dancing, playing bingo, and engaging in friendly games of Scrabble. Additionally, Linda was a valued member of the Abundant Life Church in Georgetown. Linda is survived by her sister, Jill Dean (Gerald); brother, Thomas Lewis; nieces, Laura Black (Emerson), Elizabeth Dean, and Marie Ford (Jeremy); nephew, Michael Dean (Kristen); nine great nieces and great nephews; and aunt, Bernice Collins. She was preceded in death by her father, Thomas Lewis; mother, Gladys Campbell; stepfather, Preston Campbell; and her husband, Russell J. Wells, Sr. Funeral services to celebrate Linda's life will be held at Short Funeral Home in Delmar on Wednesday, September 11, 2024, with a visitation starting at 10:00 am and the funeral service beginning at 11:00 am. The interment will take place in Odd Fellows Cemetery in Laurel, Delaware. Arrangements are in the care of Short Funeral Home in Delmar.
