Obituary

Linda Jeanne Probert, departed this life peacefully at her home on Wednesday, January 15, 2025, at the age of 75. Born on March 22, 1949, in Youngstown, Ohio, Linda was a beloved daughter, wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend. She resided in Salisbury, Maryland, where she had established a warm and loving home. She was a daughter of the late Eugene O. and Donetta (LaCapria) Horne. Linda devoted nearly 30 years to her role as a bank teller at First Shore Federal Bank, where her friendly demeanor and unwavering dedication endeared her to coworkers and customers alike. After retiring, she cherished the gift of time spent with her family, always making memories that will forever be cherished. Linda was a wonderful cook who took great joy in baking delicious treats, especially during the holidays. Her home was always filled with the warmth of her cooking and the laughter of her loved ones. She had a passion for watching television, particularly the thrill of NASCAR, which she enjoyed sharing with family and friends. Linda is survived by her devoted husband, Thomas E. Probert; her loving children, Tracy Riggins (Kenny) and Joshua Probert; her dear sister, Janice "Jill" Jones; and her adored grandchildren, Sariah Michaels, Hailey Riggins, and Hannah Riggins. She also leaves behind a great-grandson, Julian Barrera, and a great-granddaughter, Lorraine Littleton, her beloved aunt, Rose Lister, as well as her Chihuahua, "Rosie." A funeral service will be held on Friday, January 24, 2025, at 1:00 p.m. at Short Funeral Home in Delmar, where family and friends may gather for a visitation from 12:00 to 1:00. Pastor Paul James will officiate. Interment will follow at Melsons Cemetery in Delmar. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made in Linda's memory to the Humane Society of Wicomico County, 5130 Citation Dr, Salisbury, MD 21804 which reflects her love for all pets and animals.
