Obituary

Lillian P. Miller, age 80, of Salisbury, passed Tuesday, December 12, 2006 at Coastal Hospice at the Lake in Salisbury. She was born February 23, 1926 in Centreville, MD, a daughter of the late John Wesley Hammond and Mary Ellen Abrams Hammond. Lillian worked for many years as an inspector at the Manhatten Shirt Factory in Salisbury. She then went to work as a supervisor for W.R. Wilson & Company in Delmar. She retired from B & L Farms in Salisbury. She was an active member of the Church of God of Prophecy in Salisbury. She will be remembered as someone who cherished spending time with her family. She was an excellent cook, who enjoyed sharing her cooking with family and friends. She loved shopping and Christmas time was her favorite time of the year. She is survived by her husband of 62 years; George Miller; seven children; Donald F. Miller and his wife Natalie of Red Lion, PA, Joan M. Donaway and her husband William of Willards, George Samuel Miller and his wife Nancy of Delmar; Molly Hayward and her husband Jim of Salisbury, Kathy J. Timmons and her husband Freddie of Pittsville, Georgia A. Hearne and her husband Jim of Delmar, Keith Miller and his wife Diana of Centreville, MD; 15 grandchildren, Melinda Howell, Bobby Miller, Donna Whaley, Ruthie Hilliard, Jan Rollins, William Donaway, Jr., Lisa Schweitzer, George Samuel Miller, Jr., Jimmy Hayward, Emmie L. Shortall, Wade F. Timmons, Penny S. Bell, David E. Hearne, Ryan Miller, and Michael Miller; 13 great grandchildren; one great great grandchild; and many nieces and nephews. The family would like to express their gratitude to their special friends; Leon and Dot LeChance of Seaford, DE and Ruth Beauchamp and her late husband Roy of Salisbury, for their care and thoughtfulness over the years. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by three brothers, six sisters and a grandson; Donald F. Miller, Jr. A funeral service will be held Saturday, December 16, at 11:00 a.m. at the Short Funeral Home, 13 E. Grove Street in Delmar. Family and friends may call one hour prior to the service. Interment will follow the service at Springhill Memory Gardens in Hebron, MD. Memorial Contributions may be sent to Coastal Hospice at the Lake, P.O.
